Anticipate and respond appropriately

Multi Discipline

1. Looking over both shoulders whilst in race position.
2. Looking behind whilst maintaining a straight line.
3. Observe bunch movement to pick-up and follow wheels to move forward in a group.
4. Look out for attacks and respond.
5. Show good use of observation skills to out perform another rider.

TRACK

1. Start and stop safely around the runoff area of the track.
2. Enter and leave the track safely.

BMX Freestyle

1. Demonstrate observation when dropping in (around timing and no one else in doing stuff)
2. Demonstrate understanding the direction of the skatepark.

‍MTB

• Observe and scan the trail ahead to assess and decide on the best line choice, in a race situation.
• Demonstrate an understanding of using observation and anticipation to adapt rider line choice, when racing in a group.

Rider Demonstrates

• they can make appropriate decisions according to race/ environment changes.
• A full look check.  
• Maintaining control of the bike.
• Being able to track direction of travel.
• Anticipating and reacting to the actions of other riders around them.
