Optional - perform a manual front wheel lift over at least 3 meters.

What to look for

Rider demonstrates

  • Using flat pedals to demonstrate the manual and wheelie over a set distance.
  • Lifting the front wheel should be lifted before the first line, and should not fall until after the second line.
  • A strong, well timed pedal stroke is required to lift the front wheel up to the 'balance point'.
  • control of their back brake, feathering the brakes to keep the wheelie from over-rotating.
  • Selecting the appropriate gear.
