Right gear at the right time

1. Demonstrate understanding of using appropriate gears at the right time related to the environment.
2. Demonstrate shifting on front and rear derailleur.
3. Demonstrate timing of gear shift to stay on top of gears.
4. Demonstrate Anticipating up coming hills and obstacles.
5. Smoothly change gears when climbing a hill.

Rider Demonstrates

• > Observe ahead to plan gear changes for obstacles / gradients.
• Aim to maintain consistent cadence throughout the gears.
• Time the force of your pedal stroke to avoid applying heavy power during a gear change.
• Rider show good understanding of use of the front and rear derailleur to avoid 'cross chaining'.
