  1. Practise timing your pedal strokes to be able to lift the front wheel slightly off the ground.
  2. Complete a powered front wheel lift over a small obstacle such as a cone, water bottle, or line.
  3. Perform a front wheel lift, completing one pedal stroke with your front wheel in the air.

  • Pracitce timing the downwards pedal stroke with a 'pop' of the front wheel.
  • Focus on a stron push on the leading pedal to bring the front wheel up under power.
  • Ensure you have your rear brake covered to control the wheelie once the front wheel is lifted.
  • Beginners should practise their front wheel lifts on flat pedals, and on soft ground such as grass or sand.
  • Select an appropriate gear.
